Question about Canon LaserClass 7000 Plain Paper Fax

Black Copies I am getting either very dark or solid black copies. I have a relatively new toner cartridge which has worked fine up until now. What do I have to do to correct this problem?

Re: Black Copies

Is there toner in the machine ? ( toner spill)
check the manual for the location of the glass, in the maintenance section, if it has toner on it copies will be black or dark, other wise the scaning glass is bad

I have a muratec mfx 1930 and the toner is not reaching the amount of 16000 copies after 8000 copies the pages are coming out with black marks like clouds on the sky the only solution is to replace toner...

If replacing the Toner cartridge fixed the problem then obviously the cartridge was defective. The cartridges should last "up to" 16,000 pages ( 5% coverage ,11" paper) Take the cartridge back to the Dealer you bought it from and explain what happened.

We are getting black faxes and dark grey copies

I recommend to clean out an optics. Take apart a cartridge and well blow through, clean the rollers and contacts.

The fax is printing dark black all over the page

It seems that there no charge voltage when copies are made.First thing you can try is to replace the drum unit or the toner cartridge. If this doesn't help, there could be bad charge circuit board that needs to be replaced.

Cleaned the drum by running the slider on Brother IntelliFax 2800

Clean the corona wire, reclean the drum, check the toner cartridge. The cartridge may not be positioned properly, causing extra toner to be displaced.

A bar code stripe on the right side of the copy.

i'm not sure if you're talking about a solid black band or a bunch of little stripes running down page. does it happen when you run an internal report or only on copies? if its a black solid band, check and make sure the bluish colored tab on top of the drum is all the way to the left side. if its a group of fine lines, depending on whether it happens on internal reports or not, it could be the drum is going bad or you may have a bad scanner. write back with a little more info if this suggestion doesn't work.

good luck,

Black vertical streaks on faxes & copies

On top of the toner/drum cartridge there should be a blue slider, move back and forth 10 times.

If no fix, you need a new toner cartridge.

Paper has dark marks down middle

If you make a copy, does the copy have dark areas down the middle of the page? If so, remove the toner cartridge and gently roll it around to redistribute the toner inside, maybe even replace the toner cartridge if you've had it a long while. If you still see unevenness, you may need to have the machine looked at.

If the copies you make on your machine look fine, then I would suspect that the person sending you the fax has a dirty scanning element. Check with them to see if they can clean the scanning element and it should improve the fax quality.

Copies here and recipients faxes: dark, lined

How long has the drum been in there?
try this:
1-take out toner, look and see if it is ok. do you see stripes on it?
2- look at the drum are there any black rings on it? ( you did not specify white or black lines)
3- where the glass is on the opposite side ( the part you lifted to clean the glass, look at it standing from the back. you will see a white metal plate with some springs in it if you touch it. this is the reference that the fax has if there is/are a black dot on it it will give you a black line clean carefully. if it is scratched use white out to cover and make white again.

For the darkness try making a copy in photo mode if it is still too dark change drum.
