Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

My Maytage side by side has water dripping down in the freezer and it builts up with ice on the bottom. I took off the back panel inside the freezer and the drip pan under the coils was full of ice. I thawed it out but 4 days later water was coming out of it and forming ice on the bottom of the freezer again??

I believe there is more of a problem than the defrost heater is busted. This is a common problem when the defrost drain becomes blocked by ice and sludge. Here is a solution I believe leo2 should have a look at this possibility. Click Here=> Leaking Refrigerators Just What may be Haqppening And again Click Here=> Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! Every Refrigerator leaks differently so I want you to read over this information very carefully as not to miss something. Sometimes ice melts in ice maker. Water drips down and refreezes.

There is a heater built into the ice maker bottom to help release ice cubes from the machine. Under normal conditions the heater only come on when the ice maker starts to run and then jambs against the frozen cubes. When it stalls and jambs against the frozen ice cubes, the heater comes on to melt the cubes enough. I think you have a defective ice maker and the heater is coming on to much or at the wrong time, Since your temps go back to normal with the ice maker turned off, I am almost sure thats your problem.

Side by side leaks out front door on freezer side

try checking the tube that water drains out , it could be plugged with crumbs or old partials of food and causing the problem, This has happened with my fridge at one time , affecting the defrost cycle of the freezer and dripping water out of the door, The tube was located under the crisper in the back of the inside of my fridge, Hope this solves your problem

Ice built up on bottom of freezer then dripping down front

Probably a clogged drain. Use a pipe cleaner to unclog, then a turkey baster with hot water to clean out anything else. Then when the drain is clear, pour a weak bleach solution down the drain to kill the mold that probably caused the blockage If possible remove all food and let it sit unplugged for a day or two. This will clear some defrost problems.

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

A bad freezer door seal causes condensation that freezes at the bottom of the unit. I realize you said the drip pan was full of ice, but if the drain is clogged, that will happen. If that unit has the pan at the very bottom, condensation can also contribute to this.

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over
