Question about Microsoft Troubleshooting Your Web Page (0-7356-1164-5) for PC
After EXTENSIVE searching on the web, and messing around within my PS2, I just stumbled across a really obvious, but overlooked (by me at least) clamp that holds the cable that goes from the disk drive to the circuit board directly underneath it. (The wide one that is alone from the others, its orange in mine). When re-connecting this wire, I thought it had gone all the way in, but by mistake, had not managed to find this clamp. After opening it (with my precision screwdriver) slipping in the cable, and closing it again, re-connecting all other cables. The problem is now fixed.
