When i try to turn on my ps3 it goes green then beeps and goes yellow than starts flashing red whys this?

Unfortunatly your ps3 is dead, I am sorry for your loss.

if it flashes yellow to you have ylod. google it. or without yellow its just overheated. to much MW2 right lolz

Try following the 8 Steps to Troubleshooting Any PS3 Issue.

This is an overheating problem.
Let it sit for about a day and then try it out.

Make sure it has ATLEAST 4 inches of open space all around it and is not near any heat-making devices, it makes enough heat on its own.
Also make sure it's not on carpet.



If it ever starts to immediately shut-off, blink green yellow and then repeating red with 3 beeps, you have the Yellow Light of Death.
This is a console killer.

With your PS3 turned off, press and hold the Power button on the front of the PS3 for about 10 seconds (the system will beep as normal as it starts up but after 7-10 seconds it will beep again). The video settings should now be reverted. Doing this will also reset any theme settings. try this? seems to fix alot of issues.

This is the yellow light of death i got it some time ago and had to buy a new ps3 there is a way to fix it but i costs more than a new ps3 i had to buy a new one so your screw lol.

you might be holding the power on button to long. you hold the power on button until it beeps to reset the video output. try turning it on by using your controller. just press the ps3 button and if the red light is on then it should come on.
