Do the following:
- Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.
- Hold down "Home" button on the device.
- While holding down the "home" button, hold down "Sleep/Wake" button.
- Hold down the two buttons until the Apple logo appears on screen.
- As soon as the Apple logo appears on screen, release the "Sleep/Wake" button.
- Keep holding the "Home" button until the iTunes logo and the USB lead picture is shown on screen
- Release the "Home" button then follow instructions within iTunes.
