According to eMachines Support, the eTower 466id Desktop Computer uses an Intel Celeron 466MHz CPU.
(Central Processing Unit. Also known as Microprocessor, and short term - Processor)
Information for the Intel Celeron 466MHz CPU,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_celeron_microprocessors#.22Mendocino.22_.28250_nm.29
[Mendocino Core. Based on the 250nm Architecture. (nm = NanoMeter)
466MegaHertz frequency rate. ('Speed' is slang term for Frequency Rate)
128KiloByte L2 cache, 66MHz FSB. (Front Side Bus)
Part Number on top of processor is FV80524RX500128]
Mobo's, (Motherboard's) made for eMachines are, (Were), made by Trigem, MSI, Intel, and FIC. (First International Computer)
You won't find the information about your mobo at eMachines. I would suggest you use a free, tiny software program, to find information about all the hardware components, inside your eMachines computer.
(Computer of course has to be operable. Internet ready would be a plus, but not necessary. You download the program directly to the eMachines computer,=> IF it is internet ready.
OR, you download it to =>an internet ready computer, burn it to cd disk, and install it in your eMachines computer. {Computer is Not internet ready)
The program is Belarc Advisor. You can find it easily on the internet. Just type Belarc Advisor in your browser search bar, and press the Enter key.
(I also use CPU-Z from CPUID.com)
I gave you the information above, so that you may learn all about the hardware components, inside your eMachines eTower 466id.
I also gave the information to lessen the letdown, you are about to read.
Your computer has the best Intel processor it can support, (Use), right now. There is no better processor.
(Bummer I know)
