Printing position of a picture

I am trying to create a cover for a booklet (finished size is 5-1/2" x 6-1/2", letter sz paper folded in half). The cover has print on one side only.
I want to place a picture on the front cover. I am printing two/pages/up per sheet in landscape mode so the finished printout shows two pages side by side in landscape, the cover front is on the right-hand side. Everything looks perfect on screen.
However, when I try to print it, my picture prints out over the top of the left-hand side (which is the back of my cover). I've tried all kinds of different wrapping settings but nothing works. How can I get this picture to stay in place? Thanks for your help!!!

We need to know what software you're using to be specific in answering you. Publisher would be the best software to handle the print job you're describing. Please reply, to let us know more specifically: what template (if any) you're using, what printer and how many pages your document has.

Re: printing position of a picture

Heyo Chuckie,

Really depends on your printer. I am assuming you are using Word. When looking at your documents, go to FILE, PRINT, click on PROPERTIES and then LAYOUT tab. THere is BORDERLESS printing. If you have a laser printer it may not have a problem with this, if you have an inkjet, there are paper rollers in the print that need to hold the paper while printing. As a last resort, I would make a PDF of the doc and swing over to Kinkos or a printing shop and print it off there.

Good Luck.

How to adjust paper size in Cosmi perfect PDF creator essentials?

With most PDF creators a virtual printer is created when you install the software. That is where you would adjust the paper size. When you print to your PDF printer, before you click print, click on the PDF print options, Page Setup, and the select the Paper tab. Choose the paper size that you would like the PDF to be formatted to. Click OK and the print to the PDF writer printer.

Additionally, Cosmi includes user manuals when you install their software. It can be found here:
1. Click Start
2. Select Programs (or All Programs)
3. Select the name of the program you just installed (you may have to Select Cosmi, then Select the program name)
4. From your program's sub-menu, you should see Manual or PDF Manual.

I want to change the size of the paper from 81/2 x 11 to 11 x 14. I am unable to locate any tools that will let me do that. I am trying to create a 4 section brochure and want to use larger paper.

To make changes in the paper sizes , you have go to the "Printer Properties" to do that.
Go to "Printers & Faxes" -> Select the printer you are using, right-click and click properties to open the printer properties dialog box to make your paper sizes click OK.

Hope it helps.

My book fold booklet is printing upside down when duplexed!

You may need to tell word you want your printer to flip on the short side and not the long side. With my Canon printer I get a drop down menu IN WORD (not printer setup) that gives choice of: print one side; print two side flip on long; and print two sides flip on short.

Customber recipt check doesnt print logo after i set it up to do so... only prints logo on full professional format on the printer. i checked the printer settings on the software and checked "print logo"...

What version of RPE are you using and what model receipt printer? Version 11.5 with an Epson thermal receipt printer usually requires a special logo designed for that model printer. Not just any jpg or gif graphics file. Epson will create file for you, but it is pricey, around $200 last I checked. I'm not sure if the latest version 12 has a better fix for this or not. And you are right, there is no print preview on receipt printing. Contact me if you need tech help.

Photoshp CS2 print differnet photos on one sheet photo paper

for printing multiple photos in different layouts, photoshop might not be the best program.
You can howerver do it, here is how:

Open a new document with the preset letter (if your printer prints letter format) or Din A4 (if it prints A4 pages).

Open the three (or more, or less =) photos, so that you have four windows in photoshop (one is the blank page)

now with the move tool (tool palette -> top left corner) drag and drop the photos onto the blank page you created.

They might be too big (or too small). In order to change that, hit strg-T (if youre mac thats apple-T).
This will show a frame around the photo, where you can drag the corners to enlarge or shrink the photo. Hold down shift while doing that so the picture stays in proportion (youll see what i mean).

When the pic is the right size, hit the okay button on top of the workspace or just hit enter.

arrange your photos and hit File->Print with Preview (or something like that)
Now you can see how the printer is going to print the page.
If its cut of, youll have to go to Page Setup and set it to Landscape mode (or Portrait)

When you hit okay, Photoshop might tell you that the printer will cut off edges of your picture. This usually isnt true because the edges of your page should be white anyways (most printers dont print to the border of the page, so calculate 1,5 cm or so)

so just hit proceed and print

I hope this wasnt too complicated, come back with more questions if you want =)
also, be sure to try picasa from google for organizing photos (i think you can print from there too)
