I have a sanyo ds25390 that has one blank horizontal line on the screen. The sound is ok, just the picture. It started with the picture flickering , then started to shrink to one white line, then it stayed that way.How much would it cost to fix at the shop?

Re: One White Horizontal line on black screen
I charge to fix this problem at my shop $55 to solder the vertical IC if that is all that is needed and sometimes that is all ... And charge only $10 for the parts if needed ie vertical ic and resistor or capacitor. or diode or all.

hi if only a horizontal line across with no video anymore, you have bad either vertical ic or no dc supply b+( vertical ic ) or no output dc coming from the ic. if it is not totally a horizontal white line and you can see a video you must check leak or bulged capacitors at the vertical section near the vertical ic. hope this can help good luck.
This is an easy repair if you've ever soldered and would not be too costly for a repair shop to do it for you. The problem is a bad Vertical Output IC (usually mounted on an aluminum heat sink with the part on it labeled LA78?? ) and 1 or 2 bad capacitors. Some times you can even fix the problem by re-soldering the contacts of the IC- To find the IC follow the 4 wires that come from the Yoke (which is a contained coil of wires slipped over the neck of the picture tube(s)) back to the board. 2 of the wires go to the horizontal o/p and 2 to the Vertical o/p the thinner gauge wires are for the vertical.
It needs repair. If the line is vertical, then something is damaged on its horizontal circuit section on the mainboard. If the line is horizontal, the vertical circuit section is damaged. have it repaired to a qualified service center or person! avoid switching it to avoid further damage on other parts!
yes , I would go with that , and replace any electrolytic caps on it also , as they can be hard to tell if they are going bad , but some smaller electrolytic caps can be checked on the highest resistor setting( after the cap is discharged ) to check for comparison of same type cap , diodes, resistors and discap capacitors can also cause the IC to go or not function properly
There aren't any adjustments to be done for this issue. The only way to fix it will be to replace a low capacitance electrolitic capacitor(s) in the vertical section of the TV. The capacitor value may be below 100uF depending on the brand of TV you have.
Hope this helps.
Susie, you either have a shorted green drive transistor or more likely a shorted cathode inside your picture tube, transistor repair is a cheap fix, picture tube means set is not worth cost of repair, hope this helps
Set starts, horizontal and vertical deflection work, HT ok, crt heaters ok, but no sound or picture
I turned the G2 voltage up and noticed a white screen with flyback
lines, frame ok. I detected two badly soldered double diode rectifiers
in the secondary part of the power supply ! I checked all other joints,
and everything was ok !! success
White horizontal line (no vertical deflection)
Check / replace R548, R549
Sound but no picture except for a couple of horizontal colour lines
Replaced the frame chip TDA8356, set now ok
