If it's similiar to the F1231 w than i found a color catcher caught between the pump impeller and pump cover. this is located at the bottom right front of the 1235W and flips open. grey hose beside it pulls out and remove cap of hose and drain into bowl.

Tip take wet clothes out of machine to speed up the emptying of machine - this dawnwd on me after a few minutes.

Some more water will come out when you remove the pump cover - screw anti clock wise.

ee pages 18-19 of the zanussi guide for cleaning instructions. I found this link to manual on internet

or check your own manual for cleaning instructions and remember unplug power first - just in case. you may need to reset your wash to do a rinse again as i got a vibrating sound when i restarted and skipped to spin. hope this helps

Machine stops half way through program

One looses touch with all the codes available, but normally if washer stops mid cycle its due to a blocked or faulty drain pump. OR incomming water is to slow or defective inlet sensor. Switch off and start from the beginning. See if you can get machine to drain by moving the timer etc. If not, rectify pump problem. Take note where in the cycle the problem arises.

I have a Zanussi Electrolux ZWF 1430 W and it's coming up with an E20 error code. The machine starts off OK but after about 25 minutes the Error Code E20 starts flashing in display and the machine stops...

E20 is a draining error.
  1. First, try to reset the machine to factory settings first by setting cycle selector to off position for 5 sec, then to spin for 5 sec, then back to off for 5 sec, and then to spin. The machine should reset allowing you to select the drain cycle and get the water out of the machine then run a spin cycle to clear any remaining water before you unscrew the filter to clear it.
  2. Next, you need to take the filter out at the front, bottom right, of the machine, empty it of all lint and replace it. It may have water trapped in so be ready to soak up excess liquid! Also, make sure when you put it back in you have tightened it enough to avoid leaking but not too much that you cannot get it back out.
  3. If this doesn't fix the problem, check your drain pipe hoses to make sure they are not kinked and flush them out.
  4. Last but not least, replace the drain pump.

Error E20

zanussi error E20 suggests a pump/draining problem. remove pump/filter and clean it all out. its located at the end of the drain hose at the bottom of machine. power off. it might need replacement.

Can you skip through the programme to drain? Press pause button. then press start to move the lights down to the empty cycle. leave to finish.

If you have already tried this, I can explain how to put machine into engineer test mode, which will then give out a fault code to identify problem.

Try to replace the door seal on my zanussi fjr 1454w washing mach

its a pain, I am not sure of the zanussi systems, on a Hoover/candy and hotpoint/idesit, these are a clamp band with spring and bolt, you have to secure both sides of the nut and bolt, and unthread the bolt the clamp will open up and can be removed, and do the opposite putting it back on, I find access from the top of the machine is easier to work with on the inner clamp, but remember to turn of the power as some of the components around where you will have access from will be live, always unplug from the wall, shocks are not very nice or good for the heart.

Check the drain hose, and inspect the filter for any foreign object.

I report :"E20 means your fluff filter / waste pipe is getting blocked and the machine cannot pump out the water. Try unblocking the fluff filter first at the bottom of the machine. This should work, if the fault appears again though and the fluff filter is clean your waste pipe is blocked and you need to flush this through. Can you tell what I've just spent my weekend doing, I have had to get the most unbelievable amount of limescale out of these 2 areas but machine is now working fine again."

From how to mend it

Drain pump removal on Zanussi FJR1254 Washing Machine

not easy.suggest you disconnect pump and power up independently as an easy way to check if it runs
easiest way to remove pump - and its awkward - is to undo the 3 screws holding the pump to its housing

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too. Press "end of cycle" to finish the mid stoppage..
