1. Bring the "Display Properties" dialog window (right-click on the desktop, click on Properties)
2. Click on the "Settings" tab. (make sure your screen resolution is set to 1024 by 768, and the color quality is 32 bits)
3. Click on the "Advance" button (this will bring a new dialog box)

On the newly opened dialog box:
4. Click on the "Troubleshoot" tab
5. Set the "Hardware acceleration" to "Full" (drag the slider all the way to where it says "Full")
6. Click "Apply", then "Ok" (this will close the dialog box)
7. Close the "Display Properties" dialog window by clicking on the OK button.

Try turning the toy ON now. I hope this helps.

Have you tried another USB port? Sometimes ports are mixed USB1s and USB2 (on the front and back, if you have them).

    Mission Control to Manchester:

WELL!! I am 150 miles from the border...but alas, not enough to be patriotic.

I don't think you needed to do a defrag for this particular case, but it is good to do once in a while. Nevertheless, you have pllllllllllllllenty drive space. Well...I doubt you want to spend your New Years with a we should figure this out soon!

FisherPrice website was useless. have you tried going to ControlPanel, add hardware (with the console plugged in) and performed an 'auto' find search

hhhahhhhhhhhhhhhahahaaaaaahahaa... New Years isn't going to happen for another 6 hours and 45 min. And I have sushi coming in 4 hours.

SO, if you tried the above, next would be giving me the software maker, please please don't say it is Fisherprice as well.

ha....I typed "thingy" in my response, then deleted it off because it sounded a tad casual.....then you go ahead and say 'thingy'. Brilliant, Sarah.

in Control Panel there is ADD HARDWARE, and "yes I have already connected the hardware."

There is a getting drunk with almost 2 hours to NewYears, on the computer, frustrated, determined, with a fat, kernal filled dog by your side. *snort*

I am not so tech savvy as I thought! Are you using XP? under ControlPanel again, click on PERFORMANCE and Maintenance, then SYSTEM, then HARDWARE tab, what was I doing....oh...DEVICE MANAGER, do you have the FisherPrice thingy here? if yes, click properties...uninstall driver and then reinstall. if no, take another drink with me, then click "ACTION" and then SCAN FOR NEW HARDWARE.

    ...then sip again

  • Wayne
Wayne Dec 31, 2007 IS suppose to be at LEAST loaded on to your computer. when you click on SCAN for NEW HARDWARE, it should find your FFP console. :-)

it may make an excellent chew toy for your rot...or maybe you if you get any MORE determined.

WELL Sarah, as much as I want to make you happy happy tonight, perhaps a smile or two, I am afraid I have to get ready for my little soiree thingy tonight. But we are not done.....unless you actually start chewing on the console. Then, I really couldn't help any way. just do it without the z

How do I show proof of ownership for my Digital arts and crafts studio? It was a gift from a family member but I don't have a receipt. I have the product just no disk.

Hi Sonia, you could possibly explain to the person at the store where it was bought about it being a gift and the disc is missing, they may arrange for a replacement.
Or you could try the following link to the Mattel website, there is a link at the bottom of the page to download the software.

Trust this helps, regards Alan

I believe that it is referring to the amount of RAM that you have. If you don't have enough RAM, you would either need to upgrade that or consider buying a new computer. As far as video memory, you can go to run under the start menu and run "dxdiag". Under the Display tab from this window, you will see how much video memory you have.

Installation Arts & Crafts Fisher Price (Problem)

I actually have a WORKING solution!! This is the e-mail that Fisher Price Customer service sent to me after 3 calls to them, 1 to Microsoft:

"After review of the logs you sent to us, your video card NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 was last updated on 5/16/08. Please contact your video card manufacturer for an updated driver. Also, inquire if your card is compatible with DirectX 9 and DirectX 10. The Digital Arts and Crafts Studio requires DirectX 9 or higher to operate. You will then need to sign on to your computer as the administrator and update your video card." (Make sure your video card is compatible and the drivers are up to date.)

"Go to to scan your computer for necessary updates and make sure you check the "Software Updates" that are available. (Not just the critical updates) You will want to download and install ALL updates relating to the .NET Frame work. (Including the newer versions)."
(I just went in and installed all the updates that were waiting for me- except for things that I know I don't want, like the new IE)

"Your DXDiag is showing a DirectX error, please reinstall DirectX from the DACS installation disc.
Insert the DACS CD, and then cancel the installation when it starts.
Go to My Computer, locate the DACS CD, right-chick to Explore, locate and click into the DirectX subdirectory.
Locate the file DXSETUP.exe and launch."
(Check to see what version of DirectX you have. Even if you think it's up to date, it may be a good idea to install the version on the CD...)

I believe either reinstalling DirectX or the Windows Update saved me. I'd been having issues with Windows XP before this because remnants of my Windows 98 were hanging around and ruining things. Something in my DirectX had been creating errors as well, even though it claimed NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND...

I don't know. I just did everything, crossed my fingers, and now my little sister has her Arts & Crafts Design Studio! I hope if anyone is still checking this, this solution helps them, too.
