I have a 4 yr old DLE 0332W Dryer that is working but it is making a booming sound almost like the sound a shoe in the drum would make. Any ideas?

The belt may be starting to fray and as it passes the tensioner it will thump

I have a whirlpool and the top comes off by removing two screws on the back and lifting the top off, and you can look inside and see everything. I cannot find a parts list picture of your model to tell how it is put together.

MY LG DRYER DLE 5977W HAS A VERY LOUD (AND GETTING LOUDER BY THE DAY) SQUEELING NOISE AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH CYCLE. WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES THE SQUEELING NOISE CEASES. ANY IDEAS ON HOW I MAY REMEDY...

your dryer drum wheels that support the drum are either stuck on their shaft or the shaft that they turn on are rusty or eroded out on the wheels/spindle and are creating the noise you hear, you need to access the drum and lower area to see these wheels there are 4 wheels 2 at the back of the drum and 2 at the front of the drum, the rear 2 are most likely the porblem, from the heat of the dryer element

Out hotpoint dryer is 8 years old and juist

Sounds like the drum bearing or shaft is worn.
Remove rear panel of dryer, you should see the drum shaft, check for wear here.

Severe noise - drum is jammed and won't turn - LG DLE-5977 dryer

A piece of clothing is probably caught in the blower wheel.
Remove lint filter.
Use flashlight to look into filter housing to the lower left.
You may be able to retrive the item if you can see it.
Try rotating the drum in both directions while looking.

The dryer is going Ka-Boom, ka-boom over and over again-loudly. I had the drum replaced under warranty 2 years ago becasue it was starting to split...is it going again? Its 6 years old, should I replace it...

I would fix the machine if everything else is working on in. Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication. Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them. If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem. I will include these two websites for parts and further help: http://www.partselect.com/ http://www.appliancepartspros.com/index.aspx Both also have chat assistance 24/7. Good Luck, I hope this helps Please rate me, Thank You

Dryer drum stopped rotating, dryer blower continues to work.

The belt probably broke, and coincidentally happened while drying the shoes. The belt is easy to replace. Open the back and you'll probably see the belt laying on the bottom

I have a DLE 7177WM LG electric dryer is sound

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine, Unplug the dryer, remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve you noise problem.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

My Stackable washer/dryer is not operating right

Two things:

1) I would first check your water pump, if something gets in it or the water pump bearing is bad, it makes this kind of a sound.

2) If you can spin the washer drum by hand in either direction, the transmission is bad.

Good Luck!

Loud thumping sound

It's probably time for new drum support rollers. There are two rollers the drum rides on and their bearings can fail, which makes them noisy and also makes the drum wobbly while it turns. Replacing the rollers isn't difficult, and you can do it yourself if you feel comfortable working with hand tools and are patient.

Here's a good site with information on belt replacement and other repair tips, and a source for parts:
