I have a doubt how come it is working if I use 13 Amps Fuse instead of 10 Amps. I see the oven was running with Humming sound. Any suggestions..

The old Fuse is M10A and I fix F10A then the fuse burnt. I tried 13A it is working but humming sound is coming and fuse is ok we tried this for 30 seconds with anything keeping in the oven. Since it is humming I thought it is better to use only 10Ams. Also I like to know M10A and F10A are both same or any difference ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

What if the oven is working ok with 13 Amps fuse, can I continue using oven without fear or I have to use only 10Amps fuse?

I replied privately to this, stating it may be the HV capacitor, or possibly the magnetron or transformer and giving links.

It should use a 15 or 20A fuse. There should be a warning label near the fuse holder.

When everything's working right, it will draw a certain amount of current.

Depending on the nature of the failure, it may draw more or less current.

For example, if something is shorted, it will draw more and if the magnetron is not starting, it will draw less.

Hope that explains that part of it.

Sorry, I did not know you were outside the US.

So I assume you are using this on 220V with an adapter or step-down transformer?

If so, I would want to be sure the step-down transformer is working properly. If you have another one, you could try it.

If the problem lies in the micreowave, I would say it is the high voltage transformer, but going beyond this level of diagnosis is difficult to do remotely.

Microwave will not work

Even though you don't mention the model number, you posted under Sharp model R-1491, so I'll assume that's it.

You say when trying to work the actual microwave, you get nothing?

We could use a little clarification, but FixYa only gives you one shot at posting a help request.

When you enter the cooking time and press "Start", if the timer counts down and the oven lamp comes on, but the the turntable, cooling fan, and microwave section do not run, then you have a bad secondary interlock (bottom door switch) or its mount is bad.

We have the applicable service manuals for these models and have uploaded it to our site here and here to help you.

Also look at this info on door switch diagnosis and replacement.

Hope this helps.
