Won't boot, display stuck at Intel desktop board, can't go to BIOS

I got a second hand Intel D845WN MB with a P4 processor. After showing the display card details, it displays the Intel Desktop Board and remains stuck there. The screen did not indicate how I can access the BIOS. I tried changing the RAM with one which has been proven to be in working order with another PC, reseting the CMOS (by taking out the battery and reinsert back after a short while) and tried one HDD with Win X operating system and another with Win 98 but always got into the same situation.

I really appreciate if someone out there could help me solve this problem.

Re: Won't boot, display stuck at Intel desktop board,...

I had this exact same problem, turns out i just needed to unplug a couple USB devices that were conflicting with the startup. It worked inexplicably well. If you have an external HD i'd start by unplugging that, then other accessories.

No bios booting on start up

The model number you provided is incorrect.
It is most likely, D945GCNL. Intel site for your MB;

If you’re currently using 2 DIMMs of memory remove one DIMM. Open your manual to page 11. First remove DIMM "L". Attempt booting your system. Listen for possible bios beeps. Than shut the system down and remove the memory from " K " and insert your second memory DIMM. Again, boot system and listen for bios beeps. Intel suggest when installing memory on to the D945GCNL motherboard that it be done in a specific manner. See, 1.4 System Memory Page 16, in the TechProdSpec.pdf manual provided below;
The power supply currently in your system with does not provide enough wattage for your motherboard. To help find how much power you do need open the next link provided;
It’s better to have more wattage power than you need. Even though you have an Intel manual for your board it’s suggested you download it from Intel. You'll need Adobe reader to view the manual. With Adobe you can use the zoom in feature. The next pdf link is your manual;
I do not think there is anything wrong with you bios or your system memory. I think your system is under powered.

Vga card problem

Actually if you goto they have an ATI3850. This is WAAAAY better than the above mentioned card. OR This one: The ATI3650 is probably the highest you want to go. They do have an ATI3850, which is the fastest, and might I add, LAST AGP card. It may bottleneck your processor and that is why I linked the 3650.

MY Intel mother board D845WN can't boot

Try swapping those three connector plugs around from the front panel led lights to the other pins on the 9 pins connector, 5 in a row and 4 pins at the bottom. The bigger plug with 3 holes but only two wire will definitely go on the 5 pins row.

3 beep sound-no boot

that means a short in contacts on memory slot, or a component on board melting down.
If this happened it is possible that the motherboard is faulty.
If you are lucky the motherboard will read memory on one of memory slots, more likely it wont read memory at all.
Due to the cost of labor required to test and fix the motherboard usually it is worth replacing it rather than fixing it.
A P4 motherboard starts from around $50, on Ebay you can find tested and guaranteed second hands from $20.

133hz sdram problem

Please check this Intel link that shows specifications for memory that can be used in the Intel D845WN motherboard.

When upgrading or increasing memory. The DIMM's should be the same. The Intel D845WN board requires the memory to run at 3.3volt. If the memory you are adding is within the Intel spec's, than switch the two Dimm's. Insert only the new DIMM & check if the system hangs. If it does than it is possible the new memory it either not compatable or is defective. For more information about the D845WN board download the manual for you're Intel board.
