Automatic defrost units have a drain for the melt water to leave the cabinet and travel to a pan under it. That drain is sometimes not easy to find and it may be clogged with debris or mold so the runoff can't leave as it should.

Whirlpool refridgerator is leaking water on the freezer side (side by side refridgerator) onto the floor. The ice machine was overflowing with ice and has frozen ice in the ice maker that won't budge. We...

WAS IT LEAKING FROM INSIDE THE FREEZER OR FROM BOTTOM OF FRIDGE? ONCE IN A WHILE YOU NEED TO TAKE OUT THE ICE BIN AND DUMP ICE OUT AND CLEAN IT. HOW CAN THE ICE MACHINE OVERFLOW WITH ICE WHEN THE ICE IN THE TRAY WON'T BUDGE? NEED CLARIFICATION. SOUNDS LIKE YOU EITHER HAVE A BAD ICE MAKER MODULE OR THE SOLENOID FOR THE ICE ON THE WATER VALVE IS BAD.

Kenmore Refridgerator leaking water into refridgerator compartment from freezer compartment

You most likely have a clogged drain. When you freezers goes into defrost every 8 to 10 hours. The frost that is melted during the defrost drains from the freezer either down through the fridge or out the back and down. Either way it drains into a pan under the fridge. This tube is either clogged or the drain it's self inside the freezer is. Most of the time I find peas stopping the water from draining from the freezer. When the water can't drain it leaks through the bottom of the freezer into the fresh food section of the fridge. You will need to fix this because it will cause other problems. The water that cant drain from the freezer refreezes and will end up destroying the foam in the bottom of the freezer. Water will also leak onto the controls located in the part between the freezer and fresh food section ruining you controls.

The refridgerator has large amnts of water leaking from freezer

Looks like your defrost element is bad and needs replacement. Or if you can do a manual defrost and check if you are getting heat on the element. If there is heat, you can find a piece of copper wire and wind it around the element, leaving a trailing length of around two centimeters into the outlet drainpipe. By conduction this should keep the drainpipe clear.

Hello? I have a new Eclipse Kenmore being installed Tuesday 12/23. What do I need to provide for a water supply?

Hi,

I see your installation date has come and gone, but if you still need to hook up the water you can find an "ice-maker kit" from almost any home improvement store (such as Lowes, Ace, Home Depot etc....) This includes 1/4" bendable copper tubing and a valve that will tap a near by cold water supply pipe. If you find a kit with plastic tubing, I would steer clear and find the bendable copper. Plastic tubing kits are notorious for springing leaks. Buy some extra compression nuts and washers for the tubing while you are there, it may take more than one try to get a waterproof seal if this is your first time hooking up water and ice dispenser.

When hooking up the tubing to the back of the refridgerator, leave a couple coils of slack to allow the refridgerator to be pushed in or pulled out without straining the connection. There is usually a small clamp on the refridgerator back to hold the tubing steady, make sure you use this. This will help ensure a leak free connection. After you have the tube hooked up, push the refridgerator all the way back, then pull it back out and check for leaks. Sometimes the tube will start dripping a bit after the refridgerator is moved, so this step helps ensure you won't have leak problems.
