GE WDSR2080D4WW top load washer agitator - Is there a cog type thing in the agitator that could be jammed & if so, how can the agitator be removed? I think whatever connects the agitator to the motor needs to be replaced (teeth broken?) The agitator is trying to move, but appears to jam, - electrical load increases when this happens, as apparent by a light on the same circuit dimming. When selector switch is moved through cycle to next stage (drain) the machine drains, spins, rinses but agitator does not agitate normally.
pull out the agitator. this may be difficult because soap gets built up underneath and acts almost like a glue. use a leather belt and put it under the agitator and pull straight up. once you get it off you will see a bolt holding down a coupling. take the bolt out and replace the coupling with a new one. this should solve your problem with the machine not agitating. the part # for the bell coupling is: WH43X10009.

It fills up with water and as it starts it's first agitation cycle, water drains out a hard plastic tube on the side that is shaped like an "L" at the bottom and isn't connected to anything. It only does it on the large load setting.

our washing machine leaves a lot of lint on our clothes. i do not overload and it does leave soap residue as well. it is a top loader and very old. i am renting so looking for an easy way to fix this. i thought the agitator in the middle would have a lint trap in it but it does not move. GE model number: GCXR208OTWAN and serial number: SV118263P

Sometimes works all the way thru cycle, but sometimes comes up with problem detected noteice and is full of water. I can usually wait a while and it will work again, but not always.
