with that age it will need a good clean out, just and the mirrors cleaning, thats the first part, mabe needs a new bulb. and the color wheel will need looking into to make sure its not faded, you need a non smear cleaner, alcohol base, as it will dry better and lint free cloths, to clean the chamber out but dont use on the colour wheel as this will damage it, when its all cleaned then have a see how it displays, it should be better. lence is safe to clean with the alcohol cleaner. just make sure you don't dislodge anything, and take it slow removing the light chamber and mirrors.
Good Day, CCooke;
Lamp Number for the 55V825 Model is; UX21516.
To replace LAMP remove Front Panel outwards until the quick snap disengages. There is small cover on the left hand side, using a philips screw driver; remove. Two more screws secure lamp, use handle to remove. ALWAYS, unplug TV from A/C power source first. Good Luck, big IRISH.
I have a similar pblm. But your first step is to power on with tv's button. Look into the back through holes and look for 4 green and 1 red LEDs lit. If not there are 3 fuses on the power supply board.Fuses can be easily changed. next step call service.
I have a 50"Audio Vox and the it will turn on for about 15min then shut down. The only way to get it back on is to unplug it from the wall for 3o sec. then it will turn back on. Almost sounds like power supply to me. If anyone can help let me know. Unit is only a month old and no one in are town works on them, Bought it over the Internet and never again for me. Company I bought it from won't do anything./
I have never been a big fan of the universal remotes , but most of the times they do at least turn the tv on . You could possibly have a bad IR as well to . Whats your model # of the tv and what type of universal remote are you trying ?
I don`t know where you live and it makes a BIG difference, the cost of doing business is waaay more in NYC than Peoria. At my shop if you brought it in, approximately $110 plus tax (6% here in Fl.) I`m basing this on the fact it needs the output IC, you may not need the IC it`s possible the 26 volt line is missing to the IC but you asked for a generic guess and that`s what it would cost you here, remember: Big City means big rent which means much higher bill, I`m in a little town in western Fl. hope this answers your question, good luck
