Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Dryer Problem Hi, I have a fairly new Fisher & Paykel dryer that turns one way for a while and then turns the other way. The problem is that it stops and gets stuck, kind of groans. I overcome this by opening the door up and giving the dryer drum a bit of a spin then quickly close the door. The momentum seems to resolve the problem until it comes to changing direction and then it does it again. What could the problem be?? I would like to fix it. Thanks for your help - regards Sharon

Re: Dryer Problem

I dont think any thing is wrong with it if it stops for a few secs then starts spinning the other way its supposed to now if it stops and doesnt reverse at all you have a promblem it dont have brakes like a car so in order to stop to reverse the drum it lowers voltage to the motor and thats the groaning your hearing it has to stop completly to reverse or it would trash the drive motor so its programed with enough deley to make sure the motor has stopped the reversing action is supposed to give you less wrinkles

Have a Fisher Paykel model DE05. As long as I hold the start button in it will dry fine. When released it just stops.

Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

Dryer tries to start - then stops and beeps PLEASE HELP

Check the exhaust hose. If the dryer isn't venting properly it will either stop or the heater will turn off and the clothes will remain wet. If the hose is not clogged check the wall vent tube.
