Question about Toshiba 46H83 46" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Television not recieving power

I have a Toshiba 46H83 that won't turn on, no lights at all. I had a repair guy look at it and said the power supply was bad and needed to be replaced...with an estimated cost for replacement being $650. This doesn't sound like a correct price for a power supply but I haven't been able to any prices. Any thoughts?

Here is the power supply board for your set, 201.00 and you can change it yourself..If you have the smallest bit of electronics experience...

Have vertical lines across the tv. Started as something that happened right when I turned the tv on (for 5 mins or so). Now it's all the time. Toshiba 46H83

you more than likely have a bad panel inside of your tv. you can have someone repair it but it's not recommended as it's pretty expensive. You should just invest in a new tv.

Sounds like blown invertor board that powers the backlights (if it is LCD or PLASMA). If your lucky and its just the invertor board blown it could cost anywhere between £50-£150 for new board (without labour).. if you are UN-Lucky, then the backlights themselfs may have blown which is *usually* an un-economic repair.

sammy jo ,you burnt the tubes by leaving it on with a vertical collaspe faultmnow you have three damaged tubes,i also think that you also have a bad yoke which is taking out the new parts ,the cost is within reason, the shop repair is to insprct it deeped for possible other faults and damage already done.
