Flashing green light

I have a Toshiba 52JM9UA just shut itself down. Red power light is on but green light is blinking intermitently about half a second apart then it tuns off. After about 5 seconds the sequence repeats and sounds like its trying to turn itself back on. Blinking green light then off again. Followed trouble shooting guide nothing worked can you advise. Unit is not even 1 year old.

Sounds like the bulb is blown. Its the main lamp in the side of the set. you will see a small door there once you take it off there is 2 screws to remove and bulb in its casing will slip out. by looking at the buld you should be able to see if its blown. You should get approx 3000 to 4000 hours from a bulb but if you are a heavy user of this tv with higher contrast the bulbs dont last. i have this model tv myself and ive been told that they are not designed to be run for long periods of time and dont use gaming machines on them. Shame they dont tell us this when we are buying them.. hope this helps you Craig (crazy@woosh.co.nz) let me know how you get on

Hi! I have the same problem with my TV and i'm in Brazil (S. America) and here we havent this part. How do i fix this?

Had a tech look at the problem and said that the light bulb had totaly blown itself. I thought it would be 3 bulbs but it was just one and had a colour wheel inside. The service cost me $400.00NZ dollars. the bulb I would guess would be around the $200.00 dollar range. Next time I know what to look out for.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Projector screen turns off after 10-20 seconds

Is the projector receiving a source signal? if not it will power itself down after whatever time you have it set to do so when no signal is present.
Just an idea?

My Philips plasma only shows half the screen. The other half is just blacked out.

This model has PiP (Picture In Picture), find the button on the remote or check manual, this mode is most likely turned on and is being shared with one of the AV channels, or try turning on a plugged in SCART device to see if this picture shows on the other half of screen.

Sony Trinitron KV-28LS36U no sound or picture, the standby light flashing green and red but if i switch it on a little bit of sound comes and then switches off. how can i repair?

The unit is shutting itself down because a problem was detected internally. When this happens, the standby light should blink a repeated pattern. Please count the number of blinks and post the number here. That will indicate the circuit in which the problem occurred.

Thanks,
Dan

Immediately Shuts off with blinking light codes

I suggest doing a google search using the tv model # and brand.
I have learned myself that different big screen tvs seem to each have their own common problems. I have read before of power supply issues that cause what your describing.

Powers on shuts off after 10 seconds- red/green flash

its probably the bulb. if the red and gren lights are flashing simultaneously, than that means the bulb is burnt amd you need to order a new one and replace it.
