What does the half moon lit up mean, No screen.

The half moon usually means the computer is in SLEEP MODE. Normally, pressing the spacebar will wake the computer up but I have noticed that sometimes, the computer can get "stuck" in sleep mode. If that is the case, you can hold the power button down (until the power turns off and the moon disappears). Wait a few seconds then hit the power button again to turn the laptop back on.

Can I take video from my digicam/burn it DVD w/my Presario C500?

As long as your computer supports the video format (probably .mp4) and you have the right cables to connect it to the computer (probably miniUSB-USB) and the proper software (probably Nero), and a DVD burner, then yes! You most certainly can. There are many guides available on the Internet for copying videos and burning DVDs.
