I strongly aggree with the Vacwater, He is right in his observation that minerals like calcium and salt cannot be completely removed in an ordinary 5 micron filters. Fine residues of these minerals passes thru the filters. However, complete removal can only be achieved in a Multipass Reverse Osmosis systems. But under your filter system, it will of course minimize the minerals present in your water supply, but not remove it. That's why you still have the white deposits in your kettle. But without your filter, the situation
will be worst.

5 micron filters are used most in filter systems to remove sand, silt and sediment, but it will not take our calcium or salts. That is causing the white build up in your kettle. Only Reverse Osmosis filtering can take out the white build up.

I don't believe that any filtration system is capable of removing dissolved calcium from water and that is what causes the white deposits. Water softeners will, but I don't like the idea of dissolved salts in our tap water.

Water flow is v low out of aquasana RO system on kitchen sink. Landlord says filters are fairly new. NO flow !

Check storage tank. The tank must be emptied of water and 7 psig air is applies to Schrader valve on bottom. of tank. It is not uncommon for tanks to lose pressure, however there are time s where the bladder devolve a hole and ends up with water on both sides.

I have replaced this old water heater. But I am not able to get the water out of this water heater. There are some sediments and water it not coming out. How can I empty the water?

I had the same issue a few months ago. To clear the sediment blow back into the hose making sure the valve at the tank is open. I had to blow two or three times during the draining process. 50 gallon tank took about 45 minutes to drain

2) Your Bradford White most likely uses screw-in type element
Older models use flat flange type element.

3) Buy elements at local hardware.
Match wattage of new element to wattage that shows on label on side of tank

Sand in water

It sounds like the pocket developed for your wellpoint has collapsed. In order to redevelop it, you must pump water down into the well pipe for some time. I'm not sure how long. This opens up a pocket for your point so that it has no contact with sand. Of course, everything else must be flushed to remove the sand from your entire system. Goos luck!

5 year old Waste King AH-780-UL Quick&Hot Instant Hot Water Dispenser produces white residue in the dispensed hot water. What is causing this; what remedies are recommended? i took out faucet and the...

well the tank is made of brass and copper. That takes away that it is the unit. It sounds like lime buildup. Now what does happen as water goes into the tank and heats up lime will remain in the tank. Then as time goes buy it then starts to get to heavy and relesase itself and then the clog effect it taking place.

the best thing you can do now is reverse flow water into the tank and wash it out, its call beack washing. Yu can buy some products to put in at first to help break it down and then you get ore out.

With the new whole house units they now install a vakve set that has two way valves so you can backwash the tanks and stay ontop of the lime.

You must be asking where does the linme come from, well it starts at the well where the water department gets there water. then it goes into a filtering system and they use a lime to act as the filter agent then it heads out to the system and coats the pipes all along the way. I have cut 16 inch pipe and there was solid inch of lime caked inside.

I tell many people if yuo looking inside the water system yo would never drink the water. You might want to think about getting a whole house filter system to slow down the kime that geets in.

Thanks so much be safe in all that you do.

We also installed the water filter GXWH40L. We never had any issues and have gone through probably five replacement filters. We recently changed the filter and have horrible water pressure. We changed it...

Check the micron rating on the filter. A typical filter will be 30-50 micron. If the new filters are a finer micron 5-10 these will reduce the water pressure significantly and plug up much faster. Also note if you have more sediment occurring. If on a well, hook a hose up to the drain at the well tank and flush the tank out to a floor drain, take note of any sediment, let the well kick on several times to flush completely.
