HP Pavillion ze5700 laptop wont start up

Hi, seems to be a wellknown problem of Pavillon NB's. Looks like that the northbridge chip on the mainboard ist unsoldered. Even if somebody tells you do fix it by dropping the mainboard into your baking oven for a few minutes, don't try it! There are specialists who have the technical equipment and the knowledge to fix that problem. But in most cases it would not held a long time.

When my HP pavillion a1700n installed with vista home premium shuts down or goes to sleep mode it will not turn back on. The little led light under the power button does not come on but the power button...

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this will help

HP Pavillion dv4 turn on and the fan start for a second twice and then tunn off After around 5 seconds a few leds are blinking Hard Drive work fine on other laptop What can be the reason

Hello, that sounds a motherboard problem...
Try to do this first :
1- take the battery out and disconnect from power
2- press and hold the power button at least 10 seconds
then put only the power cable not the battery and try to boot...
If this dont help...your motherboard needs to be repaired or replaced.

Computer will not come on loud sound from pavillion repeats it self. The fans will spin and the blue light on pavillion comes on. moniter screen will not come on the power light is on

On some computers, when you turn it on, the fan starts to run at 100% of its speed, i.e., very noisily.
Then, when it is detected that the computer is functioning, and _not_ over-heating, the fan will slow down, and quiet down.

So, what is the nature of the "loud sound" ?
Continuous? Beeps, in some pattern?

Take the computer to a qualified technician, for better trouble-shooting.

Laptop Pavillion DV6188eu doesn't start up

From what you are describing, the motherboard has failed. I would however like you to try a couple of things though. First remove the hard drive and see if the computer will go to the BIOS screen. If it does not, then the Motherboard has definately died. If you can get to the BIOS, then you might consider a hard drive failure, or your windows installation is so corrupt, it is causing this problem. I would however lean toward a bad MOBO....seems this model, the DV6000 and the DV9000 have serious cooling issues and tend to burn their mobos up. HP recently started updating the BIOS files for these models so the fans and processor run more efficiently to keep the laptop cooler.

HP Pavillion dv9700 won't power up

Try removing the battery and using only power cord to turn the laptop on. If that fails, try turning it on without power cord, just on battery.

If none of those work, then most probable cause of your problem is motherboard. Hopefuly you are either under manufacturer warranty or you have extended warranty with your vendor where you've purchased the laptop.

If your laptop turns on on power cord, but without battery, then battery is the problem. Also, if laptop turns on when it's only on battery but it doesn't when you plug ac cord in it, then the adapter is the problem.

Pavillion wont work with battery

Hi there,
First, I recommend you to try removing and reinserting the Battery when the Notebook is turned on and powered with the Power Adapter.
I recomend you to first clean the Battery Connectors by removing the Battery and use a Earbud to clean the Metal Connectors which connect to the Battery to remove any dust which is peventing from the Battery to supply the required power to the Notebook.

Additionally, you can download and install HP Battery Health Check SP3229.exe and check the status of the Battery by following the instructions.
