Re: a fire shock in the back plate region
Diode is just pass the power supply to ckt assembly ,so it detev=cted by system, but the reason of burning may main chip or some thing other chips are got dead,so u cant service the board if u are not expert in servicing, your work is just trail and error method, dont do that
just go to samsung website and ocate your region and contact them or search for local other technition ,
best solution is (for meadium expert) change the ckt assembly and try to recovery

HDD not Detecting only Some region, if you HDD data cable damage, HDD power Cable damage, HDD port damage, or HDD bad sector. But normally you change HDD data or power cable or mother board port. And i suggest mother board all connection disconnect and only HDD connect and open bios and search your HDD detected.
check the bios setup for hdd detection if hdd detected in bios then reinstall or repair your OS
if hdd not detected by bios setup then you have to open hdd cover
you will find a fpc cable betwen hdd & mother board
just open the connector carefully & refit & apply a small tape pice on the connector lock after reinsert the cable
try to check your hard drive on other computers and see if you could access your files or not.
1-other computers can detect your HDD:
1-1-software issues on laptop:

1-2-2:USB/fire wire cable problem:
2-3:you have a damaged/weak USB port on your laptop that couldn't fully supplied the minimum needed current:
repair the damaged port via certified expert or manufacturer warranty/repair service.
2-other computers can not detect your HDD:
2-2:you have a broken/shacked/shocked/stroke HDD:
go for replacement or warranty service.
This is happening due to either the magnetron, or the Power Diode, or both, is breaking down, under load, then the unit detects the fault condition, & then, for safety reasons, to avoid a fire or explosion, shuts down the system. You need to take it in to be looked at please obtain a "Quote" before proceeding with any work. This way you can decide to repair or replace.
If you have fuel, replace the coil plate, you fried the diode in the coil plate causing it to not fire to test you need a spark plug detector light to see if your getting spark. If you just disconnect the wire and test it like the old spark plug system you will fry the coil or the diode in the plate, I forget what ford calls it, GM calls it a firing diode?? I think rusty memory.
Try this may be work

dear bangaloreboy , this may be due to your shift key is having a problem. This is permanently pressed or the other key is having some problem . If you think shift key is not causing a problem please check the key board settings from contol pannel .
I donot think this is caused by changing the operating system.
