Re: a fire shock in the back plate region

Diode is just pass the power supply to ckt assembly ,so it detev=cted by system, but the reason of burning may main chip or some thing other chips are got dead,so u cant service the board if u are not expert in servicing, your work is just trail and error method, dont do that
just go to samsung website and ocate your region and contact them or search for local other technition ,
best solution is (for meadium expert) change the ckt assembly and try to recovery

I have a 250gb seagate sata but when i put my 80gb IDE hdd it only detects in booting and in bios but after that if i open my computer i cant see my 80gb IDE Hdd and even in device manager my hard disk was...

there was wrong in the set up of jumper in your 80gb hdd. Look closely to the 80gb harddrive, in between the ide cable terminal and the power supply connector you will see 8pin terminals paired together and a jumper use to short the paired terminals. It is most likely that the jumper was configure to detect your hdd as master. If the ide cable you use for the 80gb hdd was also use for the dvd/cdrom drive then it will conflict with it if both jumper setting was set to master. See the description of jumper settings in the sticker of the hdd. Position the jumper to slave.

Reboot your system again and see if the 80gb finally appear in your system. When system boot upon detection of hdd, the primary master should be 250gb while your primary/secondary slave will be read your 80gb hard disk.

Samsung HDD does not get detected any more. I have very important data and want the data to be recovered at worst case. HDD is old one and makes strange sound when connected. Even if I connect it in...

Try to connect it as a master. Just connect this hdd only, so we can know if is detected in the bios. If yes then there's a possibility that you can recover your data. If you hear clicking noise/strange sounds then there's also a big chance that your hdd is broken. If it is detected in the bios, then remove it again and try using an external casing so you can put this hdd in it and connect it to your pc thru usb. I assume that your hdd is an ide and not sata since it's old as you say. Then to go to windows and see if your hdd in external casing is detected. Another option is that if it is detected in the bios, use a bootable cd with software apps for Hard disk tools like HDD Regenerator or HDAT2 to check and repair bad sectors on your hdd. Use this at your own risk and may destroy all data on your hard drive. If noe of this works, then you can assume that your HDD is not functioning anymore.

Cant detect my western digital hard drive help! philippnes!

Shut down the computer.Disconnect the ide cable from hdd .Just connect using primary hdd and boot the computer. Shut down the computer. Connect the secondary hdd both IDE and power cable. Restart the system and go to bios . Check if the both hdd are detected in bios. If detected boot to desktop. If not detected reset bios settings to default.Restart computer and check. IF still not detected shutdown computer.Disconnected secondary hdd and primary hdd, connected secondary hdd to primary ide connecter and check in bios. If still not detected try connecting secondard hdd on different computer and check.

System can detect Fujitsu MHY2160BH : 160GB HDD, but cant install

it seems that your computer might have a SATA hard drive which could not be detectable by windows xp, try to install vista it will detect it easily.

otherwise use dm (disk manager) for detection and partition.

My external harddisk is not detecting

hi kiran,
If you are using Windows 98 then you have to istalled driver for your external USB HDD.

If you are using Windows XP/Vista then the masstorage drivers for USB HDD is allready installed in your system, as it comes with the OS.
Some time due to conflict or bad contact your system might not read the USB devices:
  • Be sure that switch is on (if there is any switch in USB HDD).
  • Try to check the connection.
  • Try in different USB port.
  • Also check the USB cable is good.
If still no success try to use in another system and let me know your feed back.

Hard disk problem

i suggest that you'll buy another hard disk.. repairing hard disk is a tough job.. machines had done it, it is a very difficult job if its manually repaired... your hard disk maybe damaged if your system can't detect it. Just make sure that the cables are properly place/attached.

Problem with 160GB HDD

Hi there! I think it's not possible to replace the diode as these components are machine soldered to the board. If a machine soldering facility is available to you, you could possibly replace the diode (choose the same diode model adjacent to the one which is damaged. All the best to u.
