Remove top cover, and rear lower panel
Tilt washer forwards, and get someone to hold it for you.
Fit belt round motor pulley first, and slowly feed the the belt round the drum pulley, it will be very tight, so watch your fingers, it may appear to be to small, but that is the way they are, as the belt is a stretch belt.
Thanks.

My washer wont spin or agitate and there was a burning smell

Hi
Older top load washers use a belt to drive to transfer the energy from motor to drum. However, if the belt slips, stretches, or breaks, it can cause friction and a burning smell, most likely a burning "rubber" smell. The belt is located either from the back access panel or from the underside of the washer. The solution is to replace the belt with a new one. To replace the belt you can open the back lid of the washer
To replace the belt carefully pry up on front washer top to release plastic keeper pins, remove 2 Phillips screws from beneath lower front washer panel, slightly lift upward on panel to release. Now remove old broken belt, push new belt beneath large tub pulley and put belt on small motor pulley. After this push back belt tension /idler arm, start belt on large tub pulley, turn tub pulley by hand to run belt on, release tension on idler arm. Replace front panel and lower top.
Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

The belt on my washer has come off and I cannot put it back on as the belt is not loose enough how do I put it on?

The electric motor bolts have to be loosened. After you loosen them and put the belt on I always tighten the bolts snug and then use a hammer to tighten the belt by tapping on the motor base. Or you can use a pry bar old tire tool ect but its easier to tap it tight. Make sure you unplug your washer first. I hope this helps.

My wfooo hotpoint washing machine doesnt spin, the belt came off i put it back on but then it snapped when i put the washer on spin, will the washer being empty when i did this affect the belt?

Think your belt was allready on the way out and you will need a new one. Just a coincedence that it broke when it did. It came off because it was worn and stretched.

The belts come off, its a hotpoint aquarius wm63.

Remove the complete rear panel of m/c if it is a washer dryer, you will see the drum pulley in the center, and the motor pulley is at the top of the m/c
Put belt round motor pulley first, and feed belt round drum pulley.
If it is a washer on its own, remove the small center cover at rear of washer, and remove top cover also.

Put belt round motor pulley first and carefully feed belt round drum pulley, you will find this easier to do if you unhook the rear retaining spring.
Please leave a fixya rating for my solution.
Thanks.

The black belt in the back of the washer comes off.

you have a bad bearing. does the washer sound extra load like an airplane taking off or a train coming through your house? Usually when I see a pulley wobbly it's because the rear bearing is going out in your washer. Look in your owners the bearing which is compressed from the factory in the tub...should be covered for a certain amount of time. You just have to pay for the labor. I believe the pulley is covered and the belt as well. check it out

How do I change the washer belt on a Maytag Washer #LAT2500AAE

I figured out that the belt went on the bottom of the dryer. It was actually very easy to fix once I realized where the belt went. I made the mistake of opening the front cover of the washer first, which is why I did not see where to put the belt. Apparently, if the washer is not level (since I had too much for a load and it caused the washer to pull out from the wall), the belt shook itself loose.
