Hi mate

I know loads of ppl who have had the same problem.
Are you getting an output from ur headunit RCA's? Sometimes you need to turn the sub RCA's on via ur headunit. I would make sure im getting an output from the headunit first.

Why static coming from subs

several things can cause unwanted noise, poor ground, reversed directional rcas, rcas routed too close to power wires, gain turned too high, defective amplifier or h/u(deck),
if your amp is grounded to the body, the size of the body ground at the battery must be increased larger than the amp ground.
check the outside sheathing on the rcas, look for an arrow. it must point from the h/u.

I installed the amp and the light is on but no sound from speakers. i've checked everything i can think of. any other ideas?

There are several things that you can check for this issue:

Check that the remote turn on wire is connected.
Check that the RCAs from the stereo are connected at both the amp and the sub output of the stereo.
Check the stereo; some head units have settings for the sub output. You made need to set the sub output to "on" at the stereo.
If your subs/speakers are in a box, check the connections there.

My car stereo makes a thumping noise through the subs when i turn it on or off, also when i change songs on a cd and if i turn the volume all the way down too.i have tryed changing the wires, subs, amp, what...

You have to be more specific. Subs thump, that is their purpose. You need to be more in depth about the sound, because it sounds like the subs are doing their job by thumping out bass

Cant figure out my car audio problems!!!!!

There are a couple of tests you can perform. I'd first recommend checking the shield ground. You'll need an ohm meter. The details can be found on the following page.

RCA shield ground test

You can also test the output with the multimeter. Set the multimeter to AC volts. If it's not an auto-ranging meter, set it to a voltage range of ~2v AC. Disconnect the RCA cables from the head unit. Touch one meter probe to the outer ring of the head unit's RCA jack. Touch the other probe to the metal contact in the center of the RCA jack. With the head unit near full volume and a clean signal source, you should read at least one volt on musical peaks. If you have a bass disc or a test tone disc (~60hz sine wave), use those.

Hi i have a mtx 1501 d

If it does it with no RCAs plugged in, the speakers or wiring need to be checked.

If the speakers and wiring are OK, the amp may have shorted output transistors.

Amp not putting out any sound

Check you pre amp RCAs and make sure they are holding a voltage...this is where the Amp takes that signal and amplifies it...without this connection the amp will not produce any power.
