Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P72 Digital Camera
The view finder was stepped on and is cracked. When the camera is turned on the viewfinder is black. The camera takes photos, however I cannot use it because of the broken view finder. Do u have any answers on fixing it or can you please suggest somewhere that I can take it to have it repaired. I live in the Maitland, Newcastle area.
I have a DSC-P93 (same camera with 5mp) I had crack the LCD carrying the camera in my front hip pocket. I searched for a replacement LCD and I had no luck. I ended up Buying a “parts” camera from ebay for $9.90 + 4.00 for shipping. You could get either DSC-P73 or DSC-P93 (the LCD is the same) just be sure they say that the screen shows something. Menus is fine errors are no problem as long as it’s not black.

Maitland, Newcastle in Australia?
If so, you can get hold of Sony Australia (www.sony.com.au).
Honestly though, a broken LCD screen on a 4 year old camera is probably not economical to repair. you may be better off replacing the camera.
