Question about Canon PowerShot S1 IS Digital Camera
I can put in fresh rechargeable batteries and still get negative like or purple hue or black and white photos even when color shows on viewfinder. Is there a factory reset to wipe out any wrong buttons pushed? I take a lot of indoor shots in rapid succession...will it overheat and cause a loose solder connection>
It has been intermittently going down-hill slowly for 3 weeks. I have loved this S1-IS and it has never given me problems. PC 1058 (Japan) Serial 8724311117
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

I had the same problem and used the solution posted here (recall). They responded very fast and sent me an refurbished Canon Powershot S5 1S camera. I am not sure if I should receive the new one or insist my old one to be repaired.
