It sounds like you either have too low of an ohm load or the voltage is dropping at the amplifier's power terminal.

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

If the voltage remains near or above 12v, disconnect one speaker and see if it shuts down. If it doesn't, disconnect that speaker and connect the other speaker. If it only shuts down with both speakers connected and the voltage is staying above 12v, the ohm load is probably too low and you'll need to rewire the speakers.

I have 2 DB drive 10 subs dvc 4ohm each VC (pt10d4) my amp is mono block 1ohm 3200 watts how to hook up series or parallel?

parallel is all positives (Red+) to all + and then keep all the negative's (Black -) together hooking them to the amp. if you dont have the big 3 upgrade (extra battery thick wire 0-4 AWG wire and an extra battery) keep it to 2 or 4 ohms and google impedance calculator and go from there. also just because your amp is 1 ohm stable doesn't mean it won't break it at 1 ohm and cranked up all the way

My DB Drive pd 1200.1 amp shuts off when the volume is raised. What is happening and what should I do?

The vibration from the bass is cutting off the amp. it is a loose wire causing this issue. you can also get a stabilizer that will stop the vibrations from causing this issue.

I have a bamf 5500 series and the amp is on and working but when i turn up the volume the amp will go into protect mode and stay there untill i turn the volume back down then the amp comes out of protect...

you probably have a blown sub(s) that short out when the volume is turned up. it would be a good idea to find out which one(s) is bad and replace it. sooner or later it may make the amp go bad if not replaced or removed.

Amp burned out but fuses still good?

this is caused by inproper wiring from the speakers/subs to the amplifier.. an amp will still put out power to subs and speakers when it's wired improperly but it won't last for very long doing it... 6 months is longer than usual....

When i turn the volume up high enough one or both fuses on the amp will blow.

This most likely means your amp is blown. All you can do is make sure your battery and ground wires are tight. Also double check to make sure + and - Speaker terminals are going to proper terminals on amplifier. Thanks

Protection light comes on went the amp is turn on and it stays on for four seconds and then the amp turn on

Disconnect any speaker from the amp then re-power. If it still goes into protection, your amp needs serviced. Shorted output transistors most likely. And check your Sub for shorts as well. If the voicecoil on the sub is burnt, it will short any amp. If you can use a meter, check the resistance on the sub. Hope this helps

Amp is shutting off after 10 min of driving!! please help!!

Does it happen at all volume levels?
What is the gain setting on the sub amp?
Have you checked for 12V @ remote turn on after problem occurs?
Sounds as if the remote turn on relay inside the amplifier is losing signal, or has become damaged. If the protection light does not light up, the problem is not thermal, shorting, or high/low voltage.
The amplifier is in need of repair. This is not an end-user fix. Looking at about $50 to repair.

Thanks for using FixYa- a FixYa rating is appreciated!!

Amp cuts off

You may have a problem with the power source feeding the amp. You need to check the voltage across the amplifier's B+ and ground terminals when the amp is playing/cutting off. If it's dropping below ~11 volts, you need to determine why it's dropping so low.
