The plate spacing at the back of the phone is less than the standard wall plate. Is there an adaptor for this phone , so that it will be stable enough to be held securely ??

There are adapter plates exactly for your purpose which would be sold at home depot, radio shack etc. Here is one example, albeit pricey:
