I'm not sure what the problem is but the screen goes checkered after a few minutes and everything stops. Any ideas? I just got this for Christmas but bought it refurbished.

Turn the TV off and unplug it from the wall and also unplug everything that is connected to your TV for about 1 minute and plug everything back in again. There could some thing wrong with the power supply or a problem with the t conn board here.
did you try to switch it of an then on?
Pressing the button on top of the screen on the left side for a few seconds till it says slide to switch of. Slide and wait till everything is dark (half a minute) Den switch on again, by pressing the same button sir again a few seconds. Wait again about half a minute.
you can not check the inverter board using a digital tester unless you have high voltage checker or you have an extra lamp which you can connect to inveter board .

christmas is there in every year.

Hi There,
Make sure you fully charge the device for 4 hours. On the setting on your device you should have a screen saver to shut off the screen display in a few second. Set this to saver battery time and set the auto off function if not in use for a long while to save more battery time. If your display screen stays on all the time that is the reason your battery dies so fast. Also playing your music loud for long period of time can drain the battery fast too.
