Alot of cars brake lamp systems goes through the turn signal and flasher circuits - try these switches while stepping on brake pedal and someone is watching the brake lights - if they flicker or flash while using one of these switches - that will indicate where the problem is

My 1995 nissan xe 4 cylinder 5 speed truck is not getting any power to the brake lights. I have checked the fusses, I have checked everything and replaced the bulbs. Still no lights.

I am pretty certain I can help you with this!
The part of the truck that "energizes" the brake lights in under the dashboard and is connected to the metal framing by the brake pedal.
The brake light switch has at least 2 wires attached to it, and when you press the brake pedal, the switch has a pushbutton that is supposed to release and activate the lights.
If you will take a strong light down to that area, roughly in front of your knees whilst driving, you should find this plastic switch is bad, broken, or out of adjustment.
There is also a white plastic button that goes into a hole in the brake pedal that could be missing.
God bless your efforts.

2001 Chevy Cavalier no brake lights but turn signals/hazards/backups work just fine. any ideas?

WHEN YOU APPLY BRAKE PEDAL, do you see brake lights come on ? if no then the switch is not working fine ! switch turns lights on when you depress the pedal, releasing the plunger, lights go out when you release the pedal. this switch has a fuse @ fuse block. check it ! if ok, and brake lights do
not come on replace switch, & mount properly in bracket.

The brake lights on my 2006 trailblazer are not working, all others lights blinkers etc are working, checked and replaced bulbs and fusses

Thanks for choosing FixYa Rick and welcome. You probably have a bad brake switch. It is located right above the brake pedal in the cab. The pedal hits the switch and activates the brake lights. It is a round looking chrome cylinder usually. Change it and the brakes should work. It cost 10$-30$.

Brake lights

it could be a fuse. if all the fuses are good its most likley the brake light switch or a broken wire.
If all the fusses are good then go to the brake peadle and follw it up at the top of the peadal you will find a button that depresse when you hit the brakes. unplug the wiring to it and put direct power to the wirring and see if the brake lights come on if they do then replace the switch

Brake lights dont work

Look for broken wires or with a test light. follow the wires checking from the fuse box back to the brake lights checking every so often in between the light wires and the fuse box.
