Lock out ? Do you have stolen item?
Or you enter a lock up pin and your forgott ?
Did you try the default code to unlock by GARMIN (see your manual).
If your default code was change and your forgott to write the info somewhere. Contatc GARMIN , they will ask you your yellow card who came with your unit and they will unlock your item.
And next time do not enter a pin code on it, it's not nessecary. Why use a code to open your GPS. Don't use that feature anymore and it will be fine.

Take it back to the 'secure location' as indicated in your service manual. It will automatically unlock when it gets a full satellite signal. You have to enter the PIN number twice when setting up the unit. You should always use a number which is familiar to you so you can remember it. If you can't remember it, and if your secure location doesn't unlock the unit, you will need to send the unit to Garmin to unlock it. You will need your receipt for Garmin to unlock the unit.

You only have (2) solutions:
1. Take the unit to where the secure location where the PIN was set and it will not ask your for the PIN. Then you can delete it or change it.
2. The PIN is located in non-volatile memory and can not be reset except by the factory.
Attention FIxya: Any other solution promotes hacking. The above options are from the user manual.

SOURCE: I purchased a Garmin 200
Is in pin locked r just the codes for the maps. I bought one on ebay too and when i tried to register online it said the number was already registered. I contacted Garmin thru their tech support pages and they got back to me and said that there was an error in their database which they fixed and I cud register it then. Problem solved. If it pin locked then you have to provide a receipt and send it back to Garmin and they will unlock it for you
