1 Answer

HELP!!!! I bought a washer and dryer set in 2004 and the washer is not working right. It will wash but when it comes to spinning it starts to click like teeth on a machine. It seems to try to spin. Sometimes it will get some water out but they are still soaked. I dont know how to fix this and I dont have the money for a repair man to come and look at it. Please help me if you can....

ok i think you have something stuck in your drain pump unplug washer from outlet before starting . facing the washer remove the two screws and remove the bottom panel if you have a wet dry vac then open washer door and pull the drain hose out of the drain and use the wet dry vac to vacuum the water out of the washer you will hear through the door when it is empty if you do not have a wet dry vac go to the auto parts store and buy a radiator hose clamp. There only about 5 or 6 $ will save you alot of mess. Look in the bottom of the washer underneath where you took the panel off and you will see a small motor. It will have a round white face and two hoses clamp the hose with the radiator clamp tightly. On the round white piece that looks like it has a bar across it turn it to the left, and remove it. Clean anything out that you see, such as coins strings ect, and check the impeller for broken blades buy looking into the pump itself. And if any are broken you will have to replace the pump. If not reassemble and don't forget to remove clamp lol. I forgot once

they may still be something in there you missed but long as its working use it you may have to replace the pump if it goes out all together one day but not now when you get caught up you can go back in and look with a flashlight into the pump if the grinding dont stop also take a light and look closely at all the holes in the tub like a nail or screw and is lightly scraping the inner tub and tell everyone to check their pockets before washing clothes lucky you have a kenmore as they are built by whirlpool other washers don't have that screen also you should thank the webmaster for running that site

Noisy dryer

i had same problem with washing machine. i found out it was the stone inside which holds it down while it spins. The screws or nuts or what ever is holding the stone could be loose.

Or it could be the nuts or screws of the actual drum that spins that got loose when you moved the machine
