I have downloaded pics from samsung phone on to sd card and cannot read them on phone or samsung tablet. There is only icon for each pic. Help!

Try plugging the micro-SD into a card-reader which connects via USB to a computer.
This reader is seen in Windows explorer as an external drive.
If windows still sees only icons (thumbnails) then these are just software links to where the photos are really stored.
Try downloading again, using "Copy to" or "Move To" options.
Also try connecting the Samsung phone directly to your PC (may need phone's driver disk installed first).
Then {phone} DCIM>camera should have the photos in its folder.
Use Windows explorer to copy these to your hard disk folder.
If phone is recognized by the computer, the pictures should install (copy) to PC automatically.
The default folder is automatic, usually C:\{homepath} \ pictures \ YYYY-MM-DD
with YYYY-MM-DD being the date of copying.

I want to download my photos from HTC Smart f3188 to PC with windows 7

HI there
I presume that you have a ubs cable that connect your phone and the laptop. When you have made the connection you will most likely be asked what you want to do be connecting the two devices.
If, when you have told them that you want to download your photographs to the laptop. If the correct driver is not installed, you will not be able to download the pics.

Drivers-en?brand=Windows XP&logo=Windows XP&subid=1001-e1-en-10000003287&gclid=CPnrjJn-hLE
There you can download drivers in case you need one.
all the best

2. Double-click the downloaded driver to open the installation wizard. Select "Next," read through the license agreement and accept it, then click "Install" to install the driver.
3. Plug the USB data cable into the power port on your phone. Connect the other end of the cable into any available USB port on the computer.

What are the steps to download photos from phone to computer?

If you're using an Android phone, that's easy! First, connect your phone to computer, then select the MTP or PTP mode on your phone. Then you can transfer files between phone and computer casually.

If you're using an iPhone, you will need some tool. Like iTunes, iCloud, FonePaw iOS Trasnfer etc which can help you transfer files between iPhone and computer.
First download the program, and connect your device as well as the Android phone. Then select the files you want to transfer and that's OK. The steps to download photos from phone to computer is easy.
