I just got a Canon Advantix Elph LT260 at a thrift store and it was working fine. I tried to adjust the date and time and now I can't get it to take pictures. I did press a button that i assume rewound the film. Do I need to buy new film or is there a button that I can press to make it work? Also there is a button that has a flag and a pencil pictured above it. What is this button for? Thank you.

Try setting the picture resolution to "Postcard" (1200 pixels width). Then try turning the date/time stamp on. For Canon's, this feature is only available for use in this lowered resolution. Have no idea why they designed it that way.
The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
Your camera takes APS film. It's an obsolete system these days but the film and processing are still fairly easy to get.
The film loads into a compartment on the bottom of the camera; you open the compartment by turning the latch on the right hand end of the camera (as viewed from behind). The battery fits into a small compartment on the lower left back of the camera.
ive encountered this question and someone posted that you can have the date and time stamp if you set the camera on auto mode, then post card 1600-1200 then set the time and date..try it and see if it works on printing too.. tell me it it works.. but i hope it wud .
You could have cracked the lens, damage the focus or a number of other things but the lens and focus are most likely. check your lens for scratches if there is none and no cracks take it to your nearest camera store or buy new good luck!

you can only do date and time stamp under function button go to bottom where you can change size of pictures -go to right to W or wide-this is only setting you can do date time stamp on-when you change pic size and go back to menu you will see it highlighted and you can now turn it on-equals about a 2-3 megapixel size picture only-also just leave settings alone and have printer add it-date and time our always in pic data and most printers can add it
