Can you "ping" the camera IP address? (defaults to 192.168.100.1)
Can you ftp to the camera?
And most important, WHERE did you ever get a firmware upgrade for a VB-C10 !!?? Canon seems to have abandoned this product and refuses to provide firmware downloads (I am stuck on 1.0 rev 15)

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo management program.

In the short term you can take the memory card out and use a card reader - at least that will let you see the pictures.

Copy this site and paste it in your web browser address bar and hit ENTER.

http://www.download32.com/webcam-diagnostics-d35065.html

to download the Camera Diagnostic Tool and run it to check out your camera and/or problem.

Be sure the camera is plugged into the USB port before running the program.

As you run the program, write down the info about the camera so you will know what model and who manufactured the camera you have
attached so you can get the proper software drivers for it.

Then let me know and I'll help you find the driver download.
Hope this helps. Bud
