Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
Hey my name is mike. i downloaded limewire on my new laptop, but it won't connect to the internet and it says there is a firewall blocking it the connection. it is deffinetely not a firewall installed on my computer because i turned both of mine off and limewire was still blocked. i was just wondering if you have a solution as to how i can stop the firewall and if the router is involved with the problem or not. if it is, should i be opening a port for limewire, and how the heck would i do that? thanks.
this router has its own firewall, although i don't think its a good idea to turn off the firewall
google the port that limewire uses and then use portforwarding on the router.
you can start by turning off the firewall on the router to see if it works. if it does then perrhaps just allow limewire to passthrough your firewall at the router.
