I have a durabrand portable dvd player and I can not get the battery to recharge. I have unplugged it from the DC in jack and the cord from the wall. Reinserted the battery, then inserted the AC adaptor...

If your portable DVD player work with the AC power adapter in the wall outlet.100% the litium battery doesn't take any more holding charges. The litium battery should last u about 2 years with minium usages 2-3 hours a day.But that the DVD player and the litium battery must keep in very well conditon and wheather wise. Not in the heat or cold and the humitnity well shorten the lituim battey life very quickly and also could damages the portable DVD player too dosen't matter how much u used it.Tries webites like,, to buy a new litium battery or a compatible one.

No problem just bought a mpd-1760 from someone its brand new never even been used ,but no instructions/need to know how long to charge battery for first time or at all //charging time for battery to watch...

To charge the battery back you want to
  1. Turn the power off the DVD player first as the battery pack will not charge with the power on.
  2. Attach the battery pack to the player.
  3. Connect the AC power adapter and the power cord to the player.
  4. Charging will now start and the Power/Charge indicator should now be orange.
  5. Do not unhook either cord until the Power/Charge turns off.
  6. Time of charging is approximately 4 1/2 hours.
  7. The battery pack will more than likely get warm while charging. This is normal. Keep it as much in the open as you can for the best ventilation possible.
  8. You will get a low power indicator on the screen when the battery has a low charge.

As for playback time you will get about 2 1/3 hours of actual playback and about 4 hours of standby with the DVD player actually on.
Regards, Tony

DVD player lost charging power/only works with adapter plugged in

If you had the player for quite some time it could be the battery. The batteries eventually get weaker and weaker and go. Like laptop. Did you notice less usage time after you charged it when it worked? If it isnt that old it could be an internal problem you may have to get checked out by manufacturer, also check if its still under warranty.

If the battery is not charging but the player works on AC power then yes you need a new battery. I can possibly help you with that if you give me the make and model # of your player.

How do I charge battery

Simply hook the battery up to the player, plug in the adapter (house AC outlet, car adapter will not recharge batter), and turn the unit off.

The charging light should come on and when it goes out it's fully charged.

Battery back needs to be connected to the DVD player when charging. connect the batter pack to player. Run the DC/out from the battery pack to the DC/in in the player. plug the charger into the wall.

if that does not work, you have a bad battery

Unable to locate Manual, battery charge or car and wall adapter.

Hi Patreeves,
Please give me the specific brand/model of the DVD Player. Actually most of appliances are having indicated sticker label or written where the output, input description on such device are located. Sometimes you can find it at the bottom of the device, sometimes at near at the hole of the electric plug where you connect the adapter and sometimes it was located inside the body of your dvd player.
I'm a pretty sure, a lot of electronic shop that know's how to evaluated the current voltage needed to run your dvd player.
Please follow this link maybe this is more helpful for you to obtain you aim they are ac adapter power conversion specialist for appliances.
Hoping that this information is very helpful to you.
Best regards,
