When i recieve or make a call i can not hear anything?

1. Take the battery out to reset/reboot.
2. Once it powers up, plug a wired headset into it.
If you can hear through the headset fine -but not thru the ear speaker, well then its the ear speaker that has gone bad. (Hardware problem.. if its less than a year old or u have cell phone insurance, call your cell company and see if they will replace that under warranty)
You could also try speakerphone and see if that works.. if the ear speaker goes out - maybe the loud speaker will still work.

press the very top button on the top of the phone ... according to the manual (i have the same phone) that is your mute key. that should fix the problem.

I can hear the person on the other end of the phone conversation but they cannot hear me! I am not sure what happened. It worked one day and not the next. It doesn't even sound like there is a speaker on...

In this case check the volume of you're Handheld, If it is low, Increase the volume and check still if it is not working you need to walk into the service center to check the speaker of you're Handheld.

Assuming you have the audio volume turned up, do you have a bluetooth headset? Check the Bluetooth options to make sure there are no associated bluetooth devices (or just turn bluetooth off).

If that still doesn't work, try clicking the trackwheel and seeing if it says "Mute" or "Unmute" respectively.

If you still can't hear the callers voice, you may have a defective earpiece in the phone and it's time for repair. If you don't have a bluetooth headset, you can try to use one of those to hold a conversation. I have my bluetooth headset around my neck at all times, I can't stand talking without it. As an added bonus, people who can't see my earpiece in my ear thinks I'm talking to myself.

Touble shoot

Use the handsfree earpiece and see if you can hear/talk via the ear piece. If you can hear then its probably a hardware problem with your phone's build in microphone. Otherwise try a hardware reset.

Housing replacement

Simple solution. Housing is not the problem. Take a tiny flat electronics screwdriver any pry the rear cover off the ear piece. This is the chrome piece with the "M" on it.( The side that does not touch your ear when you talk. Once you have that removed. Use a soldering iron to make the speaker connections secure again. Use superglue to glue the cover back on. Problem solved 90% of the time.

Phone rings but when answered the caller can not be heard.

Your ear speaker is bad. You may need to replace it.. This one made by HTC. You can check on Ebay for replacement part. Other issue could be is the hardware part of the ear speaker may be broken or defected will cause loosing contact with the main circuit or you can say it is short. Only solution is open the phone and check for that area to see for any defective.
