Hi, i think i can help you, You will need to know about digital and analog signals.
I can guide you, but since im not there, you have to do it yourself.
To convert signals from Analog to Digital you need an (ADC).
Well it is really complex, you can read more about it here.
im sorry i wont give you a step by step solution, but as you can see other 4 experts have tried to solve this. This is complex mate, so if you really want to chnge it, go to that link and it will tell you how.
*I personaly think analog scanners are ok, and if you want a digital, its easier to buy a digital one, rather than converting it*
This Is ia link where you can get exelent Uniden scanner, there are some Digital ones too.

Since you are using Uniden; the said brand has new rocking digital models like Bearcat BC796D Digital Scanner Base
Best I can figure all will be silent and you must buy a digital scanner. Read: http://archive.seacoastonline.com/2001news/12_9a.htm
This link should help
Hi garden stuff ok here we go.......people forget that digi is just pulsed tones on an analog transmission so to simplify it .......voice that you hear in digi is generally tetra and is used by police and some emergency services... my advice dont go there as at some point using it could bring shiny black boots to your door... on the plus side there are a wide range of frequencies that carry pager activity and theres sevseral pieces of software some of which are free or rely on donations to keep going. eg im running a realistic 2032 receiver for pager frequency linked to the computer via an audio cable and decoding it with PDWv3.1 sofware, uses very little processor power and birings me hours of entertainment and general nosyness... saves me gossiping with the nieghbours. heres my email address [email protected] if you want i can give you the finer details of how to set it up. in the meen time tune into 153.025 and if you can hear a regular 2 tone broken up by what sounds like someone munching on musicle concrete your half way there. good luck have fun

hi my mates father in law is a technision for the police he changed all theres over to digital but he wont do mine because its against the law so i thought you could help instead off spending big dollars
hi can someone tell me which is the best scanner and cheapest to buy
hi fella, im running a realistic pro 2032 for digi reception if thats any help, people forget that even though its a digital signal the carrier is still analog so there for the content is made up of tones in pulse form ( or to coin a fraze "a data packet" ) so all you have to do is connect audio out eg.. the speaker or tape out or headphone socket or in very modern receivers the discriminator output to a comuputer then after checking that your output from the scanner is working on both audio channels (stereo i mean) you can check this biy plugging your headphones in and if the sound is in the middle of your head then thats it, if its too one side or the other then you need to either buy or make an adapter from 3.5 mono to 3.5 stereo. what your looking for is that the audio out from the scanner is in the middle of your head (by the way dont try to fluff this connection, it shoudnt do any harm but it will badly affect the decoding accuracy)..... now conect the other end of the adapter lead to either the audio in or the microphone socket on the back of the pc (try to avoid using the microphone input on the front as this too can cuase inaccuracies in decoding. then look for software to decode what want to listen to on line (eg PDWv3.1 is a good one for pager reception and the vast majority of pager traffic seems to be available uk wide on 153.025 mhz) then follow the instructions with the software and after a bit of messing about youl get the ballance just right. as far as voice digi signals go there usualy tetra brand which is still reasonably new and so far the decode sofware is on the market yet and its usually police or government on this one so decoding it could easily bring boots to your door. theres plenty other interesting stuff out there to keep you occupied. my email is "[email protected]" if your stuck give me a shout. ps the pdw software is free at source, if you want the link email me and il send it to you. jon
