Problem for Acer Aspire 4520-5582 PC Notebook
I have an Acer Aspire 4520-5582, and my cd/dvd
I have an Acer Aspire 4520-5582, and my cd/dvd drive isn't recognized anymore. It isn't listed in Device Manager, but when I look in Registry Editor, the info for my cd/dvd is there. I tried going in and deleting the upper filters, but my cd/dvd drive still doesnt show up, even after a restart. So my next guess was just that I have a bad cd driver. I was just going to go out and get an external cd/dvd because i got tired of trying to fix this problem. Any advice?

Presuming that you've already tried add new hardware in control panel
remove the drive from the machine. normally there are a couple of screws in the base of the laptop. boot the machine and do a normal shutdown. reinsert the cd drive and reboot.
