Pink screen is an indication that the CCFL lamps are about to fail. The CCFL lamps are mini fluro tubes.

i've got a va1930wm monitor as an external on an Acer Aspire1 running XP. XP won't allow me to set teh monitor at 1440x900. I've tried downloading drivers and nothing seems to work. I'd love to get this monitor to use its native resolution. Any ideas?
