Question about Crock Pots & Slow Cookers

Manufacture: Tuna Pressure Pans

I purchased a TUNA pressure pan on e-bay a few years ago and itsn' in need of repair. The top is self contained, the pan has a rounded, "blown out bowl-style" bottom. The pan is SS and the top has a blue lever that goes across the lid of the pan and secures the pan with a simple turn. The pressure reglator and release valve is also on this apparatus. I can't find any information on it anywhere, especially where I can ask if it can be is a wonderful pan and it would be a shame to trash it. Can you help???? Sure would appreciate your kindness in helping me locate the company so I can see what the problem is and if/how it can be repaired. Thanks so much!!

Re: manufacture: Tuna Pressure Pans

I have one too and love it. The problem with mine is it will no longer maintain a seal. I can see no visible reason why it leaks.
If you find asolution let me know

I have an all clad pressure cooker I need to know how long to cook a 5 pound pork roast for pork tocos

Hi Sharon! If you want the seasonings to get all thru the meat, I would cut it into about 6 pieces. Add your seasonings and cook it for 20 - 25 minutes. I have been cooking for 50 years and bought one of the electric digital pressure cookers. Liked it so much I bought another one. I made a pork roast about 2 weeks ago and I cooked mine for 25 minutes, It was so tender I could pull it apart with dinner forks. The seasonings I used were fresh diced onions ( 1 med) 2 cloves fresh garlic diced, salt and pepper to taste. Hope this helps.

One of the handles on our S-9898 pressure cooker broke. Where can we get a replacement handle?

Here is a site that has parts for 106 different pressure cookers
However, you will need the model number of the pressure cooker which might be on the bottom of the pan. The number you listed is the pressure regulator, not the pressure cooker.

Need a replacement lid for an 84604 west bend 4 quart Oblong slo cooker

The only place I've seen them is on Ebay. The West Bend site doesn't seem to carry a replacement for the glass casserole lids any more. On Ebay I've seen the glass lids for both 6/4 quart models and 5/3 quart models. I am not sure, but I think the 6/4 pans and lids are just a little longer than the 5/3 pans and lids.

Steam is coming out from the floating lock pin but the timer is counting down. should steam be escaping while cooking under pressure?

Yes, otherwise the cooker would blow up from the pressure. This was a common problem with pressure cookers used on a stove from many years ago. Hope this helps!

Displays e4 wont work

Removed the 3 screws on the bottom. There is a relay near the circuit board. Kind of looks like an old morse code relay. Just tapped out "E 4" in morse code. Plugged it in and it works fine.

I have a mirro matic pressure canner model 0406 with a jiggler pressure gauge. how do you know when pressure is reached and how to maintain that pressure for correct time?

I too have a Mirro 0406 that my mother gave me some 25 years ago. I LOVE it and use it every year! Fortunately, she gave me the manual along with the canner. It states"When correct pressure is reached, control will jiggle and sputter. To reach the first jiggle in a small cooker may take less than 5 min, or less than 10 min, when canning. Large canner may take 45 to 60 minutes for the first jiggle when canning a full load. Count time from first jiggle and reduce heat so control jiggle about 1 to 4 times a minute for cooking (about 4 jiggles per minute when canning). Constant jiggling causes excessive loss of moisture: the occasional jiggle and a hissing sound indicates pressure is being maintained. (I just canned 14 quarts of green beans with my Mirro today 7/26/09 :) Congradulations on your Mirro canner, I hope you have many years of success with it. Good Luck, and Happy Canning!
