Dell photo printer 720: color cartridge does not display empty, will not print color. already tried to take out and replace, still not working.

Yes on some models

There could be two problems:
1. Your color ink cartridge is empty
OR
2. When you print in color: you have to click, the box in the print setup that says color.

I have the exact same printer and had to replace the print head. This dell 720 is a discontnued model and may or maynot be worth the $35 fix. the issue is the print head gets clogged up prematurely in these 720 series dell paperwights.

the best course of action:

1. purchase priont head
2. or buy a new printer

You can try print head cleaning kit but you may be wasting you time and money on the ket because it does not work 100 percent of the time.

Hi, you are facing this issue as your Black ink Cartridge is empty, if you open the hud of the printer you will see there are two Cartridge, one is for Color and one is for Black, your color cartridge is fine as it will printing properly. check to see if the color cartridge has the plastic tab on the cartridge. Remove and reinsert cartridge.

The color cartridge is empty or clogged (blue is magenta). Your were right to try cleaning it, but even new ones from the store often fail. Good luck.

I have put in brand new color and black and white cartridges. The black works fine on the test pages, but not one bit of color shows. How can I fix it?
