Can we assume it is a LED TV? Are the dots always consistant (as in, they stay in the same place on the screen)? If so, you are losing pixels or they are failing intermittently. Use whatever warranty benefits you still have to replace the TV. Crat

If the dots are tiny, those are probably dead pixels. The circuitry that drives them is probably degrading over time for some reason. It's obviously defective, dead pixels happens a lot with LCD screens. I would hope it would be covered by warranty, because the only way to fix dead pixels is replacing the screen.
