My monitor does not come on

This could be a backlight problem or a video card problem. If you hook it up to a external monitor you should see a image if the video is good. If you turn it on and look at the edge you may see a ghost image. This means that the backlight or its power supply board are out. The parts are available fairly cheap for this so if you can do it yourself it is worth fixing. Usually you can find the parts and sintructions at the same place. Look over the instructions and see if you are comfortable tyring it.

I have one of these laptops and it is bulletproof compared to newer ones I have bought to replace it. It just keeps on going where the others are toast already.
