Acer Aspire 7720 shut down, no power light, battery and supply check good. Tried the power reset still no power light with AC supply. unit completely dead. Do I stick a fork in this one?

- Thanks for the answer! I don't believe it will apply to this unit though. With the power supply still connected to the laptop, if I unplug the power supply from the wall it will drain off (green power on the power supply goes off) fairly quick. If I unplug from the wall with the supply unhooked from the laptop it takes quite a while to drain off (supplies power light to go dark)?
The laptop's AC power jack is probably damaged. All you have to do is put the fork aside :D, unsolder the old power jack and solder the new one in. If you are not good at soldering you can get it done by a qualified professional. Its a 5 minute Job and a pretty inexpensive repair.

Amilo Li 1705 replaced 1GB (2 x 512 Mb) with two x 1GB ram. System still only sees original 1GB Ram size. Upgrade is not automatically detected,but cannot see anyway in bios to change to new Ram size
