The power supply in your amp is shorted. Rockford 401S uses IRF3205 mosfets in the power supply. The amp probably had a output fet short and the fuse inline was to big or there was no fuse and it took out the power supply. Alot of times the power supply can still be good but the amp wont always power on with a shorted output fet and sometimes it will. People tend to try and power the amp up then without the fuse and then blow the power supply. The pop and smoking inside your amp was most likely your power supply fets. I can repair the amp for you, shoot me an e-mail. Hope this helps.......

You have blown the actual filters that make the sound. a amp is basically a filter with the same filters on both channels on each side of the inside of the amp - channel 1 and channel 2, that pop was in the heat sinks of the amp usually. if you have replaced the fuse in this amp and you get no on light, the internal amp is in need of repair

Maytag Range MER5875QAS Problem

You may have a serious electrical problem. Or you may need a new element.

Please provide more info as to the source/location of the smoke.

Went to start car, made LOUD POP NOISE, then smoke poured out from under hood?? Is my car even fixable??

Depends on what went pop. What color was the smoke? If it was white and the engine was hot you may be lucky and just have blown a radiator hose. If the smoke was black or blue that would be more in line with an oil leak which may still not be the end of your car. You need to have someone look under the hook and determine where the pop sound came from.

Loud squeaking/banging noise black smoke mazda 2009 2.2 engine

It probably wasn't diesel in the oil unless someone put it there. Could be a piston.

Amp messed up got 24 volts instead of 12 how to fix

Here is what I need you to do so that I can help you try to fix this. I need you to open up your amp take some pictures. I will need some of the overall view, then take two seperate picteures closer dividing the amp in half. They should look like one really big picture of the overall amp. Then finaly I need you to take some pictures of the problem. I am sure that witht the pop and smoke that you saw and heard you shold be able to find the problem really quick. With all of this and from the way is sounds this could be a really easy fix. onle last thing do you have a soldering iron, solder and a wet sponge.?

My mustang is smoking and making a screeching sound.

You have a Bad Belt Tensioner and will need a new one and Possibly a new Belt. Have the Alternator Checked also. It could have gone Bad during these Problems. If the Tensioner is Not keeping the Belt very Tight it will not allow the Alt. To charge the Battery and it will drain very fast.
