Monitor flip broken

Hinges would most likely have to be replaced, along with possibly the bottom case of the laptop. Hinges are usually sold in a pair, costing around $100, the bottom case if its needed, usually costs around $70.

i would advise you to take it to a technician who specializes in laptop repair (Your local Staples may be able to help you), and get a quote on repairing it. I would expect labour for that job to be around $100-$150 as well (if you're not doing the repair yourself).

Screen wont work

Try the following solutions:
  1. Connect the laptop to an external monitor, and if it works, there is a problem with your LCD.The problem could be that the back light isn't functioning or your LCD has broken.Go to the service center and get it replaced.
  2. If in the above case, your external monitor too shows no response, that means that your graphics have been spoilt. You need to replace the motherboard in this case.
  3. Try resetting the BIOS manually and then re-starting,if this works, you need not take he laptop to the service center

Facing Problem with compac v3000 no display

First see if any monitor will work, plugged in at back? If works, check, just isn't been LCD monitor has been disabled by a key command, then if NOT work, it is probably Video card. OR actual LCD, OR the LCD power supply and/or Inverter? may also be bad connection to MB? Or Broken ribbon in lid, or case. Faulty sleep open/close LCD switch? Try those.

Replacing my CPU

I would leave this to a technician, who not only does know what he's doing, but also has access to the service manual for your laptop. I am not a technician and have repaired a couple of laptops, after having had great difficulty opening the case, and later on remembering where everything goes!
If it's too expensive, sell the laptop and use the proceeds to buy a better/faster one.
I hope you heed my advice. Good luck!

I have a broken monitor. where do i buy a replacement acer notebook?

Visit and do a search with the exact make and model. There are several listings, and several prices. The hard part is doing the actual replace. And... next time you need to hide the laptop don't sit on it!

THE SCREEN OF MY LAPTOP (ASUS)TURNS PINK.Can anybody help me to solve this.

Defective CCFL backlight may has the following symptom:
  • Screen flashs on red/pink and off.
  • Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
  • Picture flickering with dim display.
  • Picture flickering on and off.
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp)
has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.

Connect an external monitor to the laptop and power it up, if you see a clear image on an external monitor, this means your video card is OK.

If you see a dim image or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Power connection broken

Sounds like the DC jack on the motherboard is broken. The jack is very inexpensive, but difficult to replace as it's surface mount soldered to the board and the laptop will have to be disassembled or the plastic case cut/modified to replace the DC jack.

Broke lcd screen on laptop; need update to networked desktop, how?

If I understand correctly, you need to update your laptop??
Or get some files off it??
Anyway, connect an external monitor to your laptop and you can work on it that way. You may need to push a special function key to switch monitors. Check your keyboard.
In any case, connect the external monitor and turn it on, then power up the laptop.
