Glare - HP Plasma TV Model PL4260N

By johnfam5 on Dec 31, 2007

" "
I have had a HP plasma TV model PL4260N for just under one year. The screen has a yellow/gold glare, normally on people's faces, but also the glare will appear in light colored areas.

I have tried the white-wash feature, but it still appears. I originally thought it was due to an issue with the cable TV provider, however, I have moved and have the same issue with the new provider. It also occurrs while watching DVD's.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

-   We have the same yellow/gold glare. It's in patches randomly across the screen. It is not continuous but happens often. We tried adjusting color and tweeking but didn't help. If you can't give a solution we'll have to go to the trouble of using the warranty.-   AndrewY

Call HP and file a claim under the warranty. This is a problem with this model and they are shipping replacement kits to fix the problem. Ity is called "pixel flair". Go to this website and you will see all of the problems.

Requires taking the back off: There is a module about 1 and a half inches square with 4 controls on it (looks like a small phillips screwdriver will fit.) Sits vertically. A yellow one on the lower left side. Tweek or turn it just a little about 2% and watch the picture and seen if the problem goes away. First unplug the tv before taking the back off and when back is off position the tv and yourself to turn the control and turn the tv on. You will need someone to turn tv on for you. Then do the tweeking with someone watching the picture for you
